In the first edition of the Malta Gaming Awards, Maltco Lotteries, Malta’s national lottery brand, has been awarded the prestigious Malta Gaming Award for Corporate Responsibility of the Year 2016. Against stiff opposition from fellow finalists LeoVegas and Unibet,

Maltco Lotteries were selected as the company with the strongest commitment to Corporate Responsibility, a key part of the Maltco Lotteries operating principle. Maltco Lotteries is certified by the World Lottery Association’s Responsible Gaming Framework and by the European Lotteries Responsible Gaming Standards, the highest standards attainable in the global gaming industry. Maltco Lotteries has led the standards in the local gaming industry to ensure that everyone working with the Maltco portfolio of games are fully conversant with Responsible Gaming principles as advocated by the company.

Maltco also contribute €50,000 towards the Responsible Gaming Fund and has undertaken a programme to train over 600 Maltco agents and their assistants on Responsible Gaming.

The Malta Gaming Award for Corporate Responsibility of the Year 2016 took place the evening before SiGMA16, during the Malta Gaming Week. The organisers said that three features make these Awards unique, being that firstly, nominees must have a strong connection with Malta, secondly that all proceeds from this event will go to charity, and finally the awards will be held during the Malta Gaming Week.

The event was hosted by Liverpool legend John Barnes and attended by the guest of honour, Her Excellency, the President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca. The first edition featured a small number of awards, all of which have a special connection with the gaming ecosystem in Malta.

Maltco Lotteries supports the President’s Fun Run 2016, for the 3rd consecutive year

Friday 3rd November 2016, Malta – Maltco Lotteries, Malta’s national lottery brand, are once again supporting the President’s Solidarity Fun Run 2016, in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. Maltco Lotteries collected donations at all their Points of Sale offering more convenience to the participants who were given the commemorative T-Shirt.

Organised by Sport Malta, the Fun Run on November 6, has four major starting points: Rabat for runners and Santa Venera, Paola Square and the University for those who will be walking. The routes, all planned to pass through various villages, end in St George’s Square, Valletta, where celebrations will be held.

In the 2015 edition Maltco Lotteries collected €14,000 in donations from all its points-of-sale which were forwarded to the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Maltco Lotteries launches Ambo on Super 5

Wednesday 12th October 2016, Malta – Maltco Lotteries, Malta’s national lottery brand, has announced the launch of a new game type called Ambo on Super 5. This is the latest in a number of recent product launches and upgrades by Maltco Lotteries designed to provide a wider array of entertaining games to the local market.

Ambo on Super 5, will give the players the opportunity to place their bets on any 2 out of the 45 numbers available. If the selected numbers match any 2 of the 5 randomly drawn numbers, the player wins with the Ambo on Super 5 game type.

The Ambo on Super 5draw shall form part of the weekly live televised Super 5 draw which is held every Wednesday on the national station (TVM) at 19:45. Sale of tickets is open up to 1 hour before the draw from any Maltco authorised Agent. The draw is held in the presence of a member of the Malta Gaming Authority as well as a Public Notary public and two members from the public. Representatives from Maltco Lotteries will also be present at the draw. The winning numbers and Super 5 results are available from any Maltco Lotteries’ points of sale as well as on the company’s website www.maltco.com immediately after each draw.

The first draw will take place on Wednesday, 19th October. Ambo on Super 5 tickets can be purchased as from tomorrow, Thursday 13th October from all Maltco Points of Sale.

Tuesday 18th October 2016, Malta – Maltco Lotteries, Malta’s national lottery brand, has just published its Corporate Social Responsibility Release (CSR Publication June ’15 to June ’16), which covers four key pillars: Responsible Gaming; Retail; Sports; and, Charity. Maltco is certified by the World Lottery Association’s and by the European Lotteries for fully applying and maintaining the Responsible Gaming framework.

With this year’s theme ‘Society Positive’, the publication highlights Maltco’s commitment to the local community. Maltco has led the standards in the local gaming industry to ensure that everyone involved in the Maltco portfolio of games are fully conversant with Responsible Gaming principles as advocated by the company. Maltco also contribute €50,000 towards the Responsible Gaming Fund and has undertaken an annual programme to train over 600 Maltco agents and their assistants on Responsible Gaming.

In the CSR release, Maltco highlights their work to prevent underage play, sponsor sports events such as the European Week of Sports and the Malta Chess Federation, amongst many, as well as making considerable donations to charities such as L-Istrina and the Community Chest Fund. Furthermore, the government’s Good Causes Fund is furnished with around €600,000 annually consisting in the entirety of Maltco’s games unclaimed prizes.

Maltco Lotteries’ Scratchers sponsors Eros Ramazzotti’s Malta concert

Friday 16th September 2016, Malta – World famous Italian singer-songwriter Eros Ramazzotti will be performing live in Malta on September 17 at the MFCC, Ta’Qali sponsored by Maltco Lotteries’s fun game; Scratchers, as part of his new global tour, Perfetto.

During a career spanning over 30 years, Eros Ramazzotti has earned a global reputation and sold over 55 million records worldwide. As a Latin-pop singer, he became especially popular in Germany, Mexico and Argentina, apart from his native Italy, during the 1990s.

He was born in the Rome suburb of Cinecitta during the mid-1960s and moved to Milan as a teenager to make a career of music. Beginning with his big hit In Ogni Senso in 1991 he recorded three albums for Arista in the first half of the 1990’s. His new Perfetto tour, which kicked off in Verona last September and has taken the singer across Europe, South America and the US, follows the release of his new album, by the same name, last May.

Maltco Lotteries promotes the European Week of Sport awareness by supporting Martial Arts Area & The Maltco Indoor Rowing Challenge

Friday 9th September 2016, Malta – Following last year’s success, Maltco Lotteries, Malta’s national lottery brand, will again be participating in the European Week of Sport (EWOS) awareness, in collaboration with SportMalta. The European Week of Sport is an initiative of the European Commission seeking to raise awareness about the benefits of sport and physical activity in our daily lives. European Lotteries members like Maltco Lotteries contribute to the sustainable development of grassroots and amateur sport and participate in the development of the European sport model.

As a member of the European Lotteries, Maltco Lotteries is sponsoring the two main sport challenges on the weekend of the 10th and 11th held under the tents provided on the B’Bugia beach.

On Saturday 10th; from 18:00 till 22:00 it will be Martial Arts Area – in which individuals may participate in open classes of different Martial Arts disciplines – training provided by professional and qualified Trainers.

On Sunday 11th, it is the Maltco Indoor Rowing Challenge, starting at 9:00am till noon. There will be many different categories in which the public can participate in, including Corporate Teams, under 10,12 and 15 boys and girls races, special category races as well as men’s and women’s open events and age events for over 35’s, 45’s and 55’s. All 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category will be awarded a medal during the appropriate medal ceremonies. This includes the team event. Participation in the sport event is free.

Maltco’s instant win ‘Scratchers’ support Gianna Nannini’s: Hitstory – Tour 2016.

Friday, August 26th, 2016, Malta – Gianna Nannini will be concluding her Hitstory Tour 2016 with a concert at the MFCC in Ta’ Qali on August 28 sponsored by Maltco Lotteries’ Scratchers, Malta’s national lottery brand. Scratchers are enjoyed when the ‘Playing Area’ is scratched off, a number of codes and symbols are revealed, and if the symbols are matched according to the rules printed on the ticket, then the player is a winner.

The tour, which launched in Fermo in mid-March, has taken the renowned artist to various cities in Italy, including Rome, Milan, Naples and Verona, where she performed some of her most popular tracks: Fotoromanza, Bello e impossibile and Un’estate italiana. The set-list also includes songs from her album Hitstory.

Nannini studied piano and composition in Milan in the late 1970’s and obtained a degree in Philosophy from the University of Siena in 1994. In August 2010, at the age of 56, she announced that she was pregnant. Nannini’s pregnancy was prominently featured on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine, where she was portrayed wearing a T-shirt with the inscription ‘God is a Woman’. Her international breakthrough happened in 1984 with the release of her sixth album, the Conny Plank-produced Puzzle, who peaked in the top 10 in the Italian, German, Austrian and Swiss charts.
